The Federal Office for Goods Transport sets standards in mobility and transport policy. As an independent higher federal authority within the portfolio of the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV), we fulfill tasks in the field of road haulage and passenger transport. With our road, toll and operational controls, we ensure tax and competitive justice and make a key contribution to increasing traffic safety and environmental protection on Germany's roads. We also promote future trends in road haulage and passenger transport. This includes alternative and low-CO2 commercial vehicles as well as urban and alternative mobility using bicycle traffic and public transport. With the expansion of our classic fields of activity, the BAG is developing into a service provider for modern mobility.
