NEC Laboratories America

Technology for accurately tracking and localizing public safety personnel inside unknown buildings and in other GPS-denied environments in real-time without the need for any pre-deployed localization infrastructure

NEC Laboratories America is a research arm of NEC Corporation, Japan. Recently, NEC has created an accelerator called NEC-X in the U.S, to take projects that come out of research to the market quickly. The goal is to focus on technologies that are outside the direct scope of NEC business and get external investors to invest in these technologies and create spin-offs. We are a small team of technologists in NEC Labs who have developed TrackIO (https://www.nec-labs.com/trackio), a solution focused on infrastructure-free indoor tracking and localization of public safety personnel using a combination of wireless sensing and drone technologies. This solution has been selected to be spun-out by NEC which has given us the go-ahead to reach out directly to investors and to customers. The team has experience creating other drone-based solutions including SkyLiTE (http://www.nec-labs.com/skylite), a stand-alone drone network that provides LTE communication and SkySense, a solution for real-time video analytics.
