Description
There is an enormous amount of pressure on frontline public safety professionals to use ‘de-escalation.’ However, the ability to use de-escalation principles, to build rapport and influence behavior of people in crisis, takes time. Often, a lot of time.
In this webinar, Senior De-escalation Instructor Chris Butler from the Force Science Institute will discuss the critical tactical considerations that must be implemented in order to stabilize the incident and enable sufficient ‘discretionary time’ is afforded in order to attempt verbal de-escalation. These tactical principles are easy to remember and consider even when the pressure is on and the potential consequences are high.
