The service utilizes an app and Bluetooth-enabled device to provide real-time information about each individual’s conditions, disabilities, behavior triggers, de-escalation techniques. Information on a Vitals™ profile is voluntarily provided by the individual or caregiver and delivered instantaneously to a first responder’s phone when they are in close proximity. - Why
First responders have no easy job. With little to no information about the people they are helping, specifically those with invisible conditions and disabilities, they are left to guess and apply what they’ve learned in crisis response training. Though we believe training is necessary, we know it simply cannot apply to everyone as every person has different conditions, needs, triggers and different forms of communication. Vitals™ adds a key missing element – real time, personalized information. - How it works
Authorized first responders utilizing the Vitals™ service carry a secure app on their department-issued devices. The First Responder app immediately notifies the responder when an individual with Vitals™ is nearby and allows the responder to have temporary access to their profile of critical information.When a first responder is within approximately 80 feet of a Vitals™ individual, they may utilize the critical information provided to help interact with the individual. When the first responder gets out of the 80-foot range, the individual’s information goes away and is no more accessible to the responder.Vitals™ provides a safe way for at-risk individuals to be able to communicate their critical information in real-time without having to do a single thing – eliminating any guesswork, reducing various language barriers, and avoiding the risk of misunderstandings. - Technology made for first responders, by first responders
